Region: North Tyneside
As Enterprise Unit Manager and Part-time Lecturer at Northumbria University I managed and developed work placements, graduate recruitment and employability skills for national and local employers. I then spent six years as a Business Advisor and Skills Broker at Business Link North East where my remit was to enhance the economic activity of the region by providing trusted advice and coaching services to local businesses. Following a move to Learndirect my responsibilities were to attract learners to apprenticeship and NVQ programmes and place them with suitable employers. In my new role as a Generation NE Advisor I am enjoying putting all of these skills and experience to good use and supporting businesses with their growth plans.

Prior to becoming a Generation North East Business Advisor, I developed a wealth of experience working in the private, public and voluntary sectors, both as a director / manager and a business advisor, supporting many businesses across the North East and helping them to grow. As a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and a qualified business coach and mentor, I have a wealth of knowledge in a range of business development areas such as business start-up and growth, staff recruitment / retention, training & development and human resources. I am passionate about supporting our young people and helping them to achieve their full potential in life. Outside of work, I am involved in the Scout Association and the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
