Generation NE is part-funded by the European Social Fund. The aim of this project is to provide employability and job search support to over 2500 unemployed or inactive young people aged 18-29 years, helping them to progress towards and into employment. The project covers these areas of the North East: Gateshead Council, Newcastle Futures, North Tyneside Council, Northumberland County Council, South Tyneside Council and The Princes Trust The lead accountable body for this project is Newcastle City Council. We work closely with local businesses and provide bespoke, simplified recruitment support, with the aim to place our programme registered young people into fantastic opportunities across the region with a variety of employers.
We currently work across six local authorities; Northumberland, Newcastle, Gateshead, North Tyneside, South Tyneside and Sunderland. Each area has at least one dedicated employment adviser and our digital employment assistants are able to work with customers from any of the above areas.
Our Face to Face employment advisers work closely with local Jobcentre Plus staff and meet regularly with customers in a variety of community venues across the region. Our employment advisers are there to support customers from the start of their journey right through until they have been in employment for 6 months plus.
